Downy Birch

Downy birch tree planted in Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, Scotland

Planted by Adam Nodwell through Trees not Tees

Betula pubescens, commonly known as downy birch and also as moor birch, white birch, European white birch or hairy birch, is a species of deciduous tree, native and abundant throughout northern Europe and northern Asia, growing farther north than any other broadleaf tree.

Trees not Tees is and organisation dedicated to helping events and participants save the planet. Millions of event t-shirts are produced and given away each year that are never worn. Let’s plant millions of trees instead.

Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park is the collective name for areas of countryside set aside for conservation and recreation on the South Clyde estuary in Scotland
