Paul’s Pear

Aside from producing delicious and juicy pears, the Pyrus ‘Conference’ is known for attracting bees, beneficial insects, birds, butterflies/moths and other pollinators. It has nectar/pollen rich flowers, provides shelter and habitat, makes a good wildlife hedge, has seeds for birds and is a caterpilar food plant. In our minds the Pyrus ‘Conference’ is a tree that provides for other wildlife, protecting nature and gives to the world, and we know Paul would approve of our choice.

Planted by Dominic Carver

We have planted a pear tree for Paul in our garden and we look forward to enjoying “Paul’s pears” every year. Every time we see the tree, pick from the tree, gift fruit from the tree and eat fruit from the tree, we will say a few quiet words to our great and magnificent friend Paul.
